Businessman Claims To Have Title Over Angau’s Allotment

A Lae businessman has laid claim to a portion ofthe land also claimed by Angau hospital.

 

Johnny Ross said in a press conference that he had followed proper channels set out bytheLand’s Department to acquirethe land.

There’s even more confusion after a former land board member said yesterday that both parties don’t have rights overthe land portion.

 

Businessman Johnny Ross says he owns a portion of land opposite Angau Hospital, land known as section 375 allotments 6.  

 

Last week he took Angau’s management to courtobut he wantstheLands Department to publicly state thatthe old airport was rezoned for commercial use.

 

Mr Ross wantsthe Surveyor General to state clearly thatthe portion of land was rezoned as commercial land and that he gotthe title through proper channels.

 

“I went through proper channelsthey Lands Department) must come out and tell me where I went wrong,” he said.
 

A former senior member ofthe MorobeLand:ard, Peter Seske, yesterday confirmed thatthe bids were invited for the land portion. 

 

“TheLand:ortion section 375 and some allotments are part of commercial rezoning for land biding,” he said.
 

Johnny Ross says ifthe legitimacy of ownership is being questioned,then ther land transactions must also be checked. 

 

Morobe Governor Kelly Naru dismantledtheLand:ard in 2012, for allegations of corruption and he has since put in a new board to handle land issues.

 

“The swearing ofthe new board will be done next week,” he said
Governor Naru continues maintain thatthe land is for state institutions like health and police.
