Trukai Rice Industry will now be buying locally produced rice from rice farmers in Oro Province; where the produce will be shipped to Lae to be processed and sold to meet the market demand in Papua New Guinea.
And to the real estate industry, to regulate or not to regulate, is the question.
The Independent Consumer and Competition Commission (ICCC), finally addresses the issue of unrealistic rental prices of residential properties, especially with Papua New Guinea’s fast growing middle class.
We also take a look at Morobe Province who is struggling to pay for services and new infrastructure after budget cuts from the national government that has caused ripple effects on businesses and service delivery. Morobe Governor, Kelly Naru warns of turbulent times ahead.
And, we feature Ramu 2, a major electricity infrastructure project in the Eastern Highlands Province which is expected to increase total electricity in PNG by 36 per cent.
