Buria Rugby League Grand Finals

The Buria Rugby League Association just outside the city held its grand final matches this afternoon.

The LNG impacted community of Lealea village had a fun filled day in sports.

Like any other community in the central province, Lealea views sports as an integral part of developing youths.

With that in mind, the Buria Rugby League association hosted its grand final matches in all three divisions.

Villagers were treated to a fun filled afternoon of footy action, even elected MP Peter Isoaimo was there to show support.

He has drafted sports into the Kairuku Hiri development plan that will see the participation of the 120 thousand people of the electorate.

He committed 10 thousand Kina to the Buria Rugby League Association and K30 thousand Kina to other amenities including Church and Schools.

The league started off with four teams, then to six and increased to  ten in 2006.

It is an opportunity for players to go a step further in Central League and the Governor’s Cup which is set for July 25th .
