Buk bilong Pikinini officially launched their latest picture book in Vanimo last week, titled ‘I AM NOAH’.
The story recounts how Noah lost his hearing as a child, but was able to get an education with the strong support of his grandfather and friends at school.
While Noah may be hearing-impaired, the focus of the story is on his abilities, and what he enjoys doing.
The book will be donated to schools across Papua New Guinea to get discussions around inclusiveness, into classrooms.
Children enrolled in Buk bilong Pikinini’s Literacy program were doing a 20-day celebration of Universal Children’s Day to promote children’s rights, international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare.
