Buimo Prison Visit Brings Hope and Food

Seventh Day Adventist church members last Sunday paid a visit to the Buimo jail and conducted a service with the inmates.

This initiative was part of the Lae district Church Program.

The Church members also provided rations for prisoners.

Funding and food rations have been a serious concern for the prison administration.

Buimo SDA Church elder, Frank Keno, says the church has been doing this visitation since 1989 and is still committed in assisting the jail with its needs.

This initiative is a planned program organised by the church to be conducted twice every year. However, this year churches in Lae District have not visited the jail.

The Buimo SDA church has decided to give the food rations as an early christmas gift to the inmates before the year ends.

Keno is also calling on the other organised churches to carry out similar visitation at the jail as these inmates would return to the community.
