BSP Banz closed after recent robbery

BSP has closed its rural banking services in Banz for an indefinite period.

This is because of a recent burglary on 5th November where more than K10 000 was stolen.

BSP CEO Ian Clyne says the security of rural bank is the responsible of the community.

And called on the Banz community to assist police in their investigation or face a permanent closure.

“BSP is exceptionally disappointed after a very good reception from the people in that region that robbery has occurred. So I stress again BSP’s policy on this matter is very clear, the ownership of BSP rural agency’s anywhere in PNG is the local community,” says Mr Clyne.
