Miley Cyrus has topped the list of female celebrities British parents thought were the worst role models for their children.

According to a recent survey from UK coupon site Vouchercloud, 2,287 British parents, who have at least one child under the age of 10, were asked to choose who they did not want their kids to idolise from a list of male and female celebrities.

Dubbed by the New York Times last week as “a performing tongue with a woman attached”, the 22-year-old American singer, songwriter and actress, was the least liked with 78 per cent of parents voting her as the pop icon they disapproved of their kids following.

Coming second was Nicki Minaj with 54 per cent of British parents disapproving of their children idolising the 32-year-old Trinidadian-born American rapper, singer, songwriter and actress. In third place was Kim Kardashian with 43 per cent.

Kanye West was voted as the worst male role model with 56 per cent; Justin Bieber ranked second with 55 per cent and One Direction’s Zayn Malik third with 41 per cent.

Parents chose Kate Middleton as the most positive female role model; with Ed Sheeran and One Direction’s Harry Styles ranked first and second for idol-worthy male celebs.
