The country’s think-tank has launched two more publications under the Bougainville Referendum Research Project.

The reports titled, Options for Bougainville’s Autonomy Arrangement, and Financing for Fiscal Autonomy, were launched in Port Moresby today (30 August 2018).

Accroding to the Resarch Project Team Leader, Dr Thomas Webster, The two research reports are inquiries around the issue of Autonomy; one is around political autonomy and the other on questions of fiscal autonomy.

The report on Fiscal Autonomy offers a few options to grow the economy in order to expand the tax base, which is a very valuable contribution to understanding the fiscal capacity at the current moment as well as for a future Bougainville.

The final three research reports under the Bougainville Referendum Research Project will be released toward the end of this year.
