Black Orchids 7’s players Passes Away

Former PNG Pukpuk and Black Orchids player Jimmy Tama Pahia, sadly passed away on Tuesday (13 November, 2018) at the Buka General Hospital.

He represented the Under 20 Papua New Guinea Pukpuks in 2010,  participating in the Oceania Championship and was a regular member of the Black Orchids squad.

Jimmy, who is a certified search and rescue diver, was asked to retrieve a dead body of a drowned person, but unfortunately lost his life in the process.

The Black Orchids 7’s team, Bougainville Rugby Union and PNG Rugby Football Union have sent their condolences to his immediate family.

Jimmy is survived by his 2 children, Telani, 8-years old and 6-year old Charlie.
