A man and a woman were apprehended by Lae Police for buying stolen bicycles.

They were brought into the Lae Central Police station by the Lae police Task Force Team.

Both offenders were charged for buying stolen goods.

Following a tip off from the Public, Lae’s Task Force Senior Constable Michael Kenken and his team picked up the couple from Tale Compound, at Lae’s Kamkumung area.

The team brought back three bicycles, and the buyers, to the station and handed them over to the Criminal Investigation Division for interrogation.

Two of the stolen bicycles are still missing.

According to Police, the bicycles were stolen from one of SVS’s employee’s house at Wagtail Street, along Lae’s Cassowary Road.

The incident is believed to have occurred on the early hours of Tuesday morning, and involved 10 suspects.

No suspects were apprehended as yet but the Senior Constable Michael says he and his team are working on apprehending the suspects involved.
