Barras Go Down Fighting

The practice 50 overs match between the Hebou PNG Barramundis and United Arab Emirate’s Team A saw the PNG side defeated by 2 wickets yesterday.

The Barras were bowled out for just 120 runs in less than 40 overs.

Batting first, the Barramundis’ top order was quickly dismissed, including the middle order with just 21 runs to their name.

Despite Assad Vala, Tony Ura and Lega Siaka making double figures each, it was not enough to accumulate to a big target for their opponent.

In the second inning, the home side got a taste of their own medicine when the Barras, through Alei Nao and Willie Gavera reduced their batting strength by 4.

But a successful lower order partnership saw the home side bring the win home by 2 wickets.

The Barramundis will face Yorkshire for one last practice match, before they play the main games, starting this Friday.
