Barramundis Coach Welcomes Cricket Legends

With a day away from the arrival of Cricket Legends for the bash, Hebou Barramundis Head Coach, Jack Vare, looks forward to the four day event, as he believes their presence and input in PNG Cricket, during their short stay, will go a long way in encouraging participation and interest in the sport.

The four legends, Geoff Lawson, Geoffrey Marsh, Lisa Sthalekar and Chris Martin will arrive in Papua New Guinea on Wednesday afternoon.

Vare is positive this prestigious event will give the extra push PNG Cricketers need to take the code to another level.

Vare said, PNG Cricket has grown, especially now that the National Men’s and women’s teams have played many international matches. The legends presence in the next four days will definitely give local cricketers, the extra edge as they will be in the company of some of the best who have been in the international arena.

Last year’s Big Bash was a successful one with the likes of World’s Fastest Bowler Catheryn Fitzpatrick, and others.

The Lewas information and training session with Sthalekar will be valuable as they are now five months away from the World Cup Qualifiers.
