The Bank of Papua New Guinea has collaborated with Post PNG for a set of legal tender stamps to commemorate the 40th Independence of PNG.

The stamps feature commemorative notes and coins; they include K20 note, K10 note and the 50 toea coins.

Mr Bakani made mention of the 15th Pacific Games fifty toea coin that won the Best New Circulation coin series from the International Association of Currency Affairs, Excellence Awards.

The award winning 50 toea coin is also featured on the stamp.

According to Post PNG, the trend of marketing stamps is not as it used to be, with this new project; the advantage is that it will be marketed overseas through its e-Commerce project.
