Azcercell Telecom was founded in 1996 and has introduced a number of technological innovations in Azerbaijan.

The company is a leader of Azerbaijan’s mobile communication industry and is the biggest investor in the non-oil sector.

In June 2011, Azcercell Telecom launched its mobile eye clinic project. The project was implemented by the company to ensure prevention of eye diseases and complex examination of children, elderly and the poor was made possible.

Over the last past seven months of this year in its operation, the clinic has examined 455 people.

From the total of 455 people, 305 were children and 150 were adults. All eye examinations and treatments are done by the doctors from Caspian Compassion Project organisation.

For the last four years, more than two thousand children have benefited from this initiative. The clinic has visited several boarding schools and orphanages and those having eye problems, are visited and treated.

Positive feedbacks have been seen from those who were treated. This encourages the company to continue providing the eye care services and increase its operations to reach out to those who need it.
