Ausenco Ltd has secured a three-year contract to manage a portfolio of projects at Newcrest Mining Ltd’s Lihir gold operation in Papua New Guinea
Ausenco chief executive officer Zimi Meka saidthe contract involves Ausenco delivering services across a number of phases ofthe project and reflectsthe strength and diversity ofthe group'’s comprehensive solution offering.
Newcrest’s Lihir operation is located on Niolam Island in PNG rsquo;s New Ireland Province and is one ofthe largest known gold deposits inthe world, having produced more than nine million ounces of gold since operations commenced in 1997.
