An assessment is underway on the destruction caused by a major clash in Sialum Compound in Lae, Morobe Province.
The assessment is carried out by the Provincial Law and Order committee, together with Red Cross and IOM.
The report will be collated and sent to the Provincial Government to address.
The son of a resident was killed two weeks ago in a clash at Sialum Compound at Boundary Road.
Two people were also killed during the clash and houses were set on fire.
Members from the Provincial Law and Order committee visited the sight today.
Those affected by the clash are currently sheltered at two different locations.
The first group is still living at Sialum compound in five different care centres offered by the landlords.
The other group, who originate from Sialum in Morobe, are residing at the governor’s official residence in town.
Statistics of the destruction were collected by the three organisations today.
Some of the areas assessed include number of houses burned, families displaced and injuries that occurred.
Francis Masiang, an officer from the Provincial Law and Order Committee, says the information will be compiled and sent to the Morobe Provincial Government to address this situation.
