by Fabian Hakalits – EM TV News, Port Moresby

A woman leader in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville has called on all Papua New Guineans to reflect on the challenges and achievements for this year, and make evaluations for the new year.

Helen Hakena, from the Leitana Nehan Women’s Development Agency, says the gift of Christmas brings new hope that should better the new year.

“Christmas is a joyous moment; it comes with happiness which every individual shares with the loved ones especially their families.

“It unites families together, welcoming the Christ in us,” she said.

Mrs Hakena says, New Year must be celebrated in its true meaning and with families.

“We must welcome 2016, properly. Evaluate our lives and move on with life, so that each day, it’s a change,” she said.

Mrs Hakena also called on all youths to help their parents and be trouble-free in the coming new year.
