Armed Robberies Hit Kokopo and Rabaul

Another armed hold-up has hit the town of Rabaul in the East New Britain Province this morning.

Police reports state that a female employee of Zero Supermarket in Rabaul town was held up while depositing takings at about 9am this morning. 

The criminals escaped with the money towards the Nonga-North Coast Road.

Provincial Police commander Anthony Wagambie Junior said the police are pursuing this morning’s incident, with the final amount of money stolen still yet to be established. 

Superintendent Wagambie has issued warnings to the public, asking to to assist police by supplying information that will lead to their whereabouts and the eventual apprehension of these criminals.

Today’s armed hold up now bring’s this month’s total to four, following three robberies committed across various location in Kokopo last week.
