The National Executive Council has declared a State of Emergency for the Angau Memorial Hospital in Lae, Morobe Province to allow for urgent repair and maintenance to be carrlied out atthe premier health facility.
On Wednesday,the Cabinet called for 15 million kina in a health trust account to be released for this work.
He saidthe government is committed to building a new facility.
Angau is one ofthe biggest referral hospital inthe country and serves over half a million people from Morobe andthe Highlands.
