Amaiu hopes to break Cash hand-out Syndrome

Be akingthe cash hand-out syndrome is whatthe Member for Moresby North –East Labi Amaiu hopes to achieve in his five year plan.

Withthetheme “Settingthe Foundation right for a brighter future,the plan captures much needed projects inthe electorate.

HolidayInn Bellroom was packed to capacity as people fromthe Electorate and development partners came to withnessthe occasion, it wasthe Five Year Electorate Development Plan

The Moresby North – East Electorate comprise mostly settlements but home to those who have come tothe city in search of better services and job opportunities.

Member Amaiu toldthe people to do away withthe cash handout syndrome and utilisethe avenues put in place inthe Five Year Development Plan.

“The people are so dependent thatthey will only accept when you dothema favour. So now we are going tobreakhis culture of Cash Hand-outs”, says Member Amaiu.

The Five Year Plan captures development needs ofthe people – one that will transform settlements into surburbs. The 96 page document was embraced by all stakeholders includingthe Office of Rural Development.

The Moresby North – East Electorate will soon launch a Haus Krai Schemen September to assist  people inthe Electorate with funeral Expenses among thers.
