The positions for all State-Agency Boards will be advertised, with board appointments to follow a rigorous appointment process. That is the undertaking by Prime Minister James Marape.
Speaking to the media yesterday, the Prime Minister said as part of the change process, all Board positions for Government Agencies, and State-Owned Entities, will go through a merit-based appointment process to ensure that competent professionals are chosen to provide the direction for these important entities.
“All positions of Departmental heads, all positions of boards will be advertised and based on merit based appointment process, the person to sit in boards, the best person to sit in the departmental heads, will achieve optimum results on the various organisations that keep the country going,” Prime Minister Marape said.
“We have many lobbies who want to be in positions – my message to everyone of them is simple; pick up an application form apply when those advertisements are made. If you qualify and have those qualifications to sit in those boards and sit on those positions, you will have an occupation.”
