Airport Security Measures: Training Complete

Over 50 participants fromthe public and private sectors have completed a world class training on improverd airport security measures.

They were acknowledged today by trainers from Qantas Airlines in Australia.

 

The participants have been urged to work as a team to ensure security measures are improverd inthe airline industry.

The two day intensive training ended today atthe G4S headquarters in Konedobu. It included participants from various organizations suchthe National Airports Corporation, Air Niugini, G4S Security, and Customs.

It was conducted by SNP Security, a specialist security management firm in Australia, who is also engaged by Qantas Airlines.

The training is part of a Public-Private Partnership betweenthe governments oPNG and Australia, and private security firms in both countries and is funded under AusAID. 

Recentlythe Jacksons Airport in Port Moresby upgraded its security screening process at a cost of K1.5 million.

The training is part of this project to improver security measure to meet international demand.

One ofthe key messages duringthe training was team work, and particiants have vowed to do this.

The participants were told thatthe training was as good as anywhere else inthe world, and have been urged to exercise whatthey been taught.
