AirlinePNG flights to Tokua Airport (Kokopo) will resume its service this Friday, 01 February, 2013.
This was released in a press release today.
And, whilst NAC have liftedthe Notice closingthe airportoAPNG will continue to run ongoing risk assessment reviews regardingthe safe operation of aircraft into Tokua and will suspend operations shouldthere be any cause for concern for future operations.
Duringthe period of volcanic activitythe services will be re-timed so as to removerthe overnight stop in Kokopothereby futher decreasingthe potential for disrupted services werethe prevailing winds to change duringthe nightoand any associated ash fall to result inthe aerodrome being closed inthe morning.
