Air Niugini will soon take delivery of 2 ATR cargo aircraft to replace the current Dash 8 freighter and other leased courier aircraft.
The ATRs will be responsible for freight in Port Moresby, Lae, Mount Hagen, Rabaul, Hoskins, Kiunga, Madang, Moro, Wewak, Goroka, Mendi and potential services to Cairns.
The fleet will also transport freight for the mining, oil, gas, agriculture, merchandising, heavy machinery, medical supplies and other large and small industries.
The aircrafts are expected in the first week of September.
Chief Executive Officer Wasantha Kumarasiri signed the instruments last week.
