Air Niugini subsidies for Enga paid

A sum of fifty thousand kina was paid to Air Niugini asthe first quarter subsidy instalment for passenger tickets by Enga Provincial Government.

Governor Peter Ipatas officially paidthe money tothe airline officials in Port Moresby yesterday.

The subsidy has been an ongoing arrangementowhere tickets for passengers to Enga get subsidised.

Governor Ipatas initiatedthe idea some years ago to encouraged Enga passengers to fly to Wapenamanda airport as a way to guarantee economic activity instead of going via Mt Hagen.
