Air Niugini Cargo Aircraft Plunged into Creek

The Minister for Civil Aviation Davis Steven released a press statement yesterday onthe Air Niugini cargo aircraft incident in Madang on Saturday.

 

The Ministersaidthe aircraft over-ranthe westerly runway and plunged intothe Meiro Creek causing damage tothe outer right wing and engine due to fire.

Preliminary investigations bythPNG AccidentsInvestigation Commission are underway in Madang.

 

Meanwhile, Air Niugini Management says it will supportthe investigations by providingthe necessary information.

 

Air Niugini also reassured customers thatthe airline will maintain its safety culture with all flights operating as normal.
