Aim For A Healthy Mind for 2014

On the first day of the brand new year Mental Health expert, Dr. Uma Ambi’s, advice is to have a healthy mind.  Good mental health is the key to physical health and a productive life.

Dr. Uma Ambi said improving the mind is a good start for the brand new year.

She said that good mental health will help a person keep their New Year resolutions as well as manage his or her life well.

This means taking stock of your life by having goals to work towards in the year.

Dr. Ambi said having a Things-To-Do-List will give you a sense of direction and feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day.

Equally important is keeping time for yourself.

She said engaging in and improving personal activities which you enjoy will actually improve your mind activities so you stay mentally healthy.

Getting adequate sleep is also vital.

Another way to have a healthy mind is to get good nutrition balanced, physical exercise half an hour a day or 3 times a week, and less intake of alcohol, smoke and betelnut.

Lastly but not the least, Dr. Ambi recommends a healthy spiritual life.
