AFPNG will be hosting its third leg ofthe Talent camp in Kimbe, West New Beitian fromthe 13th tothe 14th of December.
AFPNG General Manager, Murray Berd, SaidInterim squads and scholarships will be announced in early December and a final list will be completed onthe 20th of December.
The support of Coca Cola with AFL has implemented a structured talent pathway for the youth oPNG.
This pathway entails identifying talentoand upon completion oftheir secondary schooling, being granted scholarships to play with selected Australian clubs to futher developtheir skills.
Berd saidthe talent camps are part ofthe AFPNG’s junior development program inthe country.
The Junior development program has shown depth and strength so far in Lae, with Port Moresby’showing great promise and beatring more fruit than expected. Selection will be tough. Fromthe initial 80 that are selected, only 25 will make it into next year’s squad to represenPNG.
These youngsters have proverd thatthey are committed to training and are serious about footy.
