Admiralty Buoyant

By Jeremy Mogi – EM TV Sport, Port Moresby

Northern Conference, NSL Team, Admiralty FC, is looking at improving on the recent winning performance of the Manus side that beat Madang in the BESTA Cup.

Head Coach, Peter Sakaes, made this known, going on to say that the Manus Soccer Association will be providing a number of players in the 2015/16 season.

Sakaes is no stranger to success.

In 2014, he guided Manus province to a grandfinal appearance against Madang, after his side defeated defending champions Milne Bay province.

In season ten of the NSL, Sakaes took the helm of Admiralty FC, who marked their debut season with peaks and troughs, as his players struggled to deal with the pressures of the NSL.

This season, will be different, as Admiralty will be placed in the Northern conference of the National Soccer League, Against the likes of Goroka, Besta FC, Madang, Welgris and Defending grand final champions, Lae City Dwellers.

Sakaes hopes that if the success of winning Back-to-back Besta FA Cups is any indication, then his side is fully prepared for the new season.

Admiralty will be one of twelve teams slated to take part in the expanded NSL Season for 2015/16, and while Sakaes has a young squad, with many players, relatively unknown, the NSL has been known to make stars out of hidden talent.
