The Government is striving for efficiency in all of its national frameworks.
The three-day Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council (CIMC) conference will allow the Government to gauge valuable feedback from its partners.
Minister for National Planning & Monitoring, Charles Abel, said the conference was key in showcasing Government’s achievements in service delivery and fulfilling development aspirations.
Day two of the National Development Forum saw sessions on Public-Private Partnership initiatives and the involvement of communities in improving governance and service delivery.
Minister Abel, in a separate interview, said that the government will always struggle to deliver services, and that’s where strategic partners come in to assist the Government achieve its development aspirations.
The Forum is an ongoing consultative process that allows dialog for continued improvements.
Minister Abel also announced that the Government’s intentions for the 2017 National Budget is to start bringing funding all the way down to ward council levels. The actual figures are yet to be announced but he said the government feels strongly about empowering sub-national governments.
Minister Abel said at this forum, the government articulates all these policies and asks all its development partners to assist the government by improving delivery of services through this uniform network.
