Hunters Look Forward to Upcoming Match Despite Last Loss

The SP PNG Hunters returned this afternoon from Cairns following their embarrassing defeat to Northern Pride yesterday. The Hunters lost 40-16 at Barlow Park, and now sit in fourth place on the Intrust Super Cup ladder.

With three players missing in yesterday’s match due to suspension, and a few others out with injury concerns, coach Michael Marum says they won’t be using that as an excuse.

Stargroth Amean, Nickson Borana and Noel Zeming made a return into the starting line-up in yesterday’s clash after being out for six weeks.

They will be doing a video analysis of the match to see where they went wrong, and prepare for their last match before the competition finals.

Out of 12 away games this season, the SP PNG Hunters have only won four. Marum says this will be something they will look into before next year’s season.

They will play the Sunshine Coast Falcons, who are ranked fifth on the competition points ladder, at the National Football Stadium this weekend.
