14 Days Grace Period

The Department of Personnel Management has been given 14 days grace period starting today, by the PNG Health Support Workers Association.

It has now been one year and five months since non-clinical workers submitted their log of claims.

Their claims consist of grievances and benefits that they thought they should benefit, from like any other public servant does.

These include good working terms and conditions such as receiving of housing allowances.

The group claim they have been treated unfairly by the Personnel Management Department for not looking at their claims.

Jack Suao, General Secretary of the PNG Health Support Workers Association, said if the department failed to comply with their log of complaints within this grace period, there will be a nationwide shutdown of health services.

“Medical supplies will be on hold, transport grounded, all accountants off that makes the health service delivery,” said Suao.
