Arore registers over 200 Ijivitari students with IT

Ijivitari member and sidelined minister for higher education David Arore has encouraged parents to givetheir children a second chance at education through private institutions.

He madethese comments duringtheInternational TrainingInstitution’s Open Dayin Port Moresby overthe weekend.

The Ijivitari member said private institutions prepare students’for the corporate market place;therefore, school-leavers havethe opportunity to secure employment.

He called on parents whose children have been left out ofthe government’s formal education system, to take a different route with private institutions.

The public-private partnership betweenthe government and private higher institution operators in PNG now gives school-leavers a second chance to futhertheir education.

This year Mr Arore registered more than one hundred students’from his electorate with IT inthe first semester. Another one hundred will begin this June for semester two.

IT has been running for 14 years in Papua New Guinea offering courses in business and information technology.

IT has learning centres as well in Lae, Kimbe, and Rabaul. They will open a new center in Beka next month.
