Boy receives K20,000 medical support from Governor

A 12 year old boy with a brain tumor has received much needed financial assistance of K20, 000 from Governor for Southern Highlands William Powi.

Governor for Southern Highlands William Powi cut short a caucus meeting to be atthe Port Moresby General hospital.

Unfortunately 12 year old Abraham Paul Poi was not present but his Uncle and fther were. After seeingthe family’s plea for help through a submissionthe governor felt compelled to help.

The 20,000 kina will add to an estimated cost of 65,000 kina needed to cover medical cost in Singapore.

Paediatrician Dr Gwenda Anga said Abraham had been hospitalised for one year. During that time he has become blind but is hopeful he will get sufficient treatment in Singapore.

There are only two CT scans inthe country, one at Pom Gen andthe ther at PacificInternational Hospital.
