PNG Swimmers breaking personal best at Bercelona

PNG’s Tegan McCarthy took tothe pool for the Womenrsquo;s 50m Betterfly, and finished first in her heatobreaking her personal best of 31 seconds by 0.83 seconds.

 

Meanwhile, Stanford Kawale finishedthe 100m Betterfly in 1 minute 02.45, just over a second outside of his qualifying time.

 

After breaking a personal best inthe 100m Freestyle by 1.28 seconds, 17 year old Stanford reflected on his time atthe championships – saying he’d had a great week and did well inthe free but was disappointed inthe fly.

 

Stanford’s attendance attheWorld Championships has not only been an enjoyable experience, but an invaluable one as well.

 

Meantime, Berbara Vali-Skelton can now bask inthe glow of breaking her personal best records.

 

It’s been a remarkable week for the 15 year old atthe 15th FINAWorld Championships.

 

The young swimmer from Papua New Guineafirst of all broke her personal best in her first discipline ofthe weekthe 100m Be aststroke, and now she has gone one better inthe 200m version.
