Basketball Championships ends on high note

The 2013 National All Stars Basketball Championships ended on high note after three grueling days of basketball action.

Six centers participated inthe championships including Mt Hagen, Kavieng, Simbu and Port Moresby.

 

All centers fielded in a senior men and women’s team.

 

The Port Moresby Womenrsquo;s Basketball League faced steep opposition from Madang, Mt Hagen and home team Lae Green.

 

Favorit’s’ inthe women’s Lae Green hadthe likes ofInternational Louisa Wallace who trlied in vain for her team.

 

Bet it wasthe Port Moresby Womenrsquo;s basketball league that fielded in a youthful team lead by Captain Julianne Diro and Dianne Hani.

 

While inthe men’s,the semiprofessionaPNG Men’s Basketball League went through unbeaten withthe bulk of internationals –the Muri brther’s Parapa and skipper Lawrence Lahari.

 

Basketball won’t be played atthe Wallis and Futuna Mini Pacific Games;therefore,the Basketball Federation oPNG will name a train-on-squad for Oceania and Pacific meet in New Zealand in Novermber.
