Team Kumul in Final Training

After seven days of resting, Team Kumul is back on field as preparations tothe 2013 Rugby LeagueWorld Cup match reaches its final stages.

Head Coach Adrian Lam saysthe inclusion of experienced international based players is a bonus and will display maturity and discipline on field.

 

It was a disappointing loss tothe Aussies, but according Adrian Lam,the outcome ofthe match was needed to finalizetheWorld Cup team.

 

There’s a mammoth task ahead andthe honors now lies withthe players. 

  

2013 Rugby league world cup stage will be a different scenario for many players, some having played at ther international meets includingthe Pacific Cup and will be eyeing this challenge as an opportunity to gain exposure.  

 

Lam, who was part oPNG Kumul team in 2000 inthe world cup match against Australia in Townsville, feltthe pinch oPNG’s losing streak tothe Aussies. Being in that position, he will be expecting more fromthe players.

 

He said this match will provide an opportunity to earn respect onthe international scene.

 

Lam is optimistic; team Kumul will be competitive against France and Samoa inthe opening match.

 

English based squad members Jason Chan and Menzie Yere will join up withthe team in UK.

 

The team will have two training sessions each on Friday and Saturday and will departthe shores on Monday, 14th of October, 2013 for their much anticipated Word Cup duties.
