It will be a double feature for Harlequins, inthe grand final ofthe Capital Rugby Union this weekend.
Harlequins edged out Southern Chiefs inthe women’s division, but it was Defence who stolethe show by narrowly beating Wanderers 15-14.
Defense shockedthe University Piggies, andthen went on to repeat that performance against Wanderers inthe Men’s Premiere Division ofthe Capital Rugby Union.
Defense playedthe ball right through Wanderers territory, and was aggressive in attack inthe first 5 minutes ofthe match.
Wanderers sensedthe danger and quickly swithched to a kicking game. Beth teams were out to findtheir comfort zone, but each line-out saw Wanderers winthe ball to attack.
Defense onthe ther hand dominatedthe scrum, turning every ball opportunity into a try.
Wanderers retaliated and wouldn’t let go easily, but Defense held on tothe one point lead with everythingthey had.
Beth teams knew this wastheir only chance of making a grand final appearance against Harlequins.
Wanderers once again came so close yet so far missing out onthe finals 14/15 to Defense.
The A-grade division gave Wanderers something to smile about asthey edged out Motuan Warriors 5/6 to enterthe grand final this weekend.
