Duringthe New Year period,the Beram General Hospital in Wewak reported six cases of stabbings that resulted from alcohol related fights.
Five males were admitted tothe Accident and Emergency unit yesterday, with multiple knife wounds tothe chest.
All five underwent surgery and are in stable conditions.
Another alcohol related case was brought in yesterday. The male victim was stabbed inthe abdomen several times.
Nurses inthe Accident & Emergency unit’say he is yet to go in for operation.
