National Department of Education Takes Full Responsibility of EQUITV

By Louisah Frank – EM TV News, Port Moresby

The National Department of Education (NDoE) and JICA have been working together to ensure primary school students have access to education, through EQUITV, in all parts of the country.

It is especially essential as EQUITV aims to deliver despite the schools geographical locations.

Now, the NDoE will take full responsibility of the project as of the end of this month.

This Memorandum of Understanding was signed yesterday in Port Moresby.

JICA challenged the Department to take on the responsibility to bring EQUITV to parts of the country that does not have access to teaching and learning materials like textbooks.

Assistant Secretary of E-learning Division, Miss Hatsi Mirou, said JICA may be leaving EQUITV but this does not mean EQUITV will die out.

“EQUITV is here to stay!” Miss Mirou declared.
