Malaysia’s Tourism industry is ranked as one of the top ten in the world and first in South East Asia.
With more recognition invested into the industry, the industry has expanded and is said to be the second largest source of foreign exchange income for the Islamic nation.
Described as a nation of diversified ethnicity and culture like Papua New Guinea, Malaysia is a very pleasant and vibrant country to visit. Its busy modern cities and magnificent richness of the nation’s cultural arts and natural flora and fauna, has attracted both Islamic and non-Islamic communities across the globe.
While the industry continues to expand, the country with future forecast of preserving and protecting its Islamic tourism products and services has developed its tourism guidelines to achieve this plan.
The nation has unveiled its tourism guideline called MS2610:2015 Muslim-Friendly Hospitality Services Requirement.
The guideline will guide all tourism product and services including accommodation, food and tourist guides.
Not only it will set a system to preserve the integrity of the country’s Islamic tourism products and services, the guideline will ensure all this products and services comply with its Islamic laws and principles.
It was developed by the Department of Standard Malaysia in collaboration with the Islamic Tourism Centre.
