A review will be conducted by the Link PNG Management to increase flights into Wapenamanda in the Enga Province to the meet increasing demand.
This was the assurance from Chief Executive Officer, Captain Daniel Wanma.
Captain Wanma made these remarks recently, while receiving the subsidised airfare payments of K250,000 from the Enga Provincial Government to Link PNG.
Captain Wanma said that 13 years of partnership between both parties is now a model for other districts – subsidising payments into passengers’ airfares.
Enga, the home of the Porgera Mine, is also the model province for education, and Captain Wanma says the public and private sectors must make use of the Wapenamanda Airport, because of cost variations involved.
Provincial Governor Peter Ipatas says the volume will increase in future as Enga continues to build its capacity.
Governor Ipatas says the provincial government will continue to provide financial support to National Airports Corporation and Link PNG in improving Wapenamanda Airport and air services.
