Bougainville’s home-grown Black Orchids are in Port Moresby, for a three week’s training.
This is in preparation for the upcoming National 7’s Tournament that will be held in the Nation’s Capital, next month.
The Sankamap Orchids have just ended yet another big clash in the recent Pacific MMI Rugby Sevens Tournament, held in West New Britain Province.
Sixteen teams competed in the challenge, half from outside centres including newcomers SLS Coast from Port Moresby, and regulars Aroma Coast, Black Orchids, Lae Harlequins, Madgauns and Rabaul’s Royals and Vikings.
Both Orchid one and two entered the finals.
Team one defeated Rabaul’s Vikings in the plate, a score line of 25-17, while team two beat Talasea Coast, 27-5.
Captain Hubert Tseraha says, ball work and tactics is their main focus, in these three weeks training.
It’s a big challenge, something to sharpen on, before the tournament.
