Lack of proper coordination in the Provincial Government, have affected the delivery of basic government services to the people.
Finance Department’s Acting Secretary; Dr Ken Ngangan has revealed.
Poor planning has affected resource allocation that will now come under the microscope of the Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability Program.
A framework that will diagnose the strengths and weakness, of the Public Financial Management System was launched today in Port Moresby.
Dr Ken Ngangan said the program, spearheaded by the finance department, aims to strengthen fiscal discipline with strategic resource allocation, for effective service delivery.
A reform agenda will be developed to address identified weaknesses.
All agency partners will comply under the framework.
Financial Management Improvement Program, National Program Coordinator Sam Erepan, told EMTV News the secretariat will spearhead this program in all Provincial Governments.
This is to ensure, all Provincial Governments perform in accordance with the required finance and monitory laws.
The program will be rolled out to sub national levels as part of the assessment.
