The Opposition is taking Government to court over the delay in release of District Services Improvement Program Funds for 2013.
An urgent Supreme Court application was filed, seeking orders to stop all DSIP and PSIP funds for 2014.
March 12 has been set for the hearing of the urgent application.
This was revealed by Deputy Opposition Leader Sam Basil this afternoon.
The announcement was made by the Opposition leader Belden Namah in Vanimo last week.
Today, in a news conference in Port Moresby, his deputy Sam Basil reiterated that statement.
The Opposition is seeking orders to stop, the 3 key departments, Finance, Treasury and Planning from releasing the DSIP and PSIP for all Districts and Provinces.
Prime Minister Peter O’Neill on many occasions has stated that the DSIP does not have any constitutional standing.
However, the Opposition argues that it is part of the budget which is an Act of Parliament.
The Supreme Court Application will be heard on the 14th of March.
