Juffa Responds to Neglected Rubbish at Popondetta Market

Northern Province Governor, Gary Juffa, is seriously concerned about the health and well-being of the people in Popondetta Town.

Governor Juffa was responding to N EMTV News report on piles of neglected rubbish at the Popondetta Market becoming an eye sore.

Juffa said he had visited the market and tasked local authorities on ground to meet and find solutions to address the litter issue in Popondetta Town.

“The responsibility is with the town major, urban LLG, Higaturu LLG, the administration.

“I have asked them all to meet and find some solutions on this many times,” Juffa said.

The Governor will call a meeting with the Northern Provincial Administrator to ensure this health and hygiene issue at the Popondetta Market is rectified.

“I am very much concerned and will task them to do something,” he said.

These concerns came to light after EMTV News aired a special report on the build-up of rubbish in the Popondetta Town Market.

Market workers including vendors, called for a change in the market management.
