The first lot of sporting equipment for the 2015 Pacific Games arrived in Port Moresby on Friday December 12, 2014.
The first of seven laser sailing boats, ordered from Sail Craft Australia loaded into containers last week, have arrived in Port Moresby. Another 20 laser sailing boats are expected to arrive soon.
The Games Organising Committee (GOC) Sport Manager, Ian Liveras said the sporting equipment is the most important gear for the games and we want to ensure that is all on the ground in time for the eve3nt.
“As we lead up to the Games in July, 2015, more sporting event will be expected to arrive in Port Moresby.
“We are excited that our first equipment has arrived, because this gives us confidence that we are on track and that all sporting equipment will be in Port Moresby, in time for the actual event,” he said.
GOC has already started ordering all sporting equipment based on individual Sport’ requirements for the 28 Sport earmarked for the 2015 Pacific Games.
