Post PNG Signs Service Level Agreement With NSO

By Vasinatta Yama – EM TV, Port Moresby

Post PNG is now the official logistics provider of the National Statistics Office.

Today, they signed the NID Service Agreement, to facilitate the movement of the National Identity Project equipment throughout the country.

NSO has until the end of this year to roll out the project.

Post PNG and NSO have teamed up to carry the state’s NID project right across the country. The signing today will see NID equipment transported to all provincial towns in Papua New Guinea, before NID registrations can occur in each electorate.

The partnership will see over 8 million birth certificates sent out from Port Moresby to use during the identity registration roll-out.

The agreement is a result of a long dialogue between both parties.

Last week mobile kits were successfully delivered to Southern Highlands for the roll out of the program.

Manus, New Ireland, Central and Milne Bay are the next provinces which will take on the NID program in March.

The partnership is based on a service agreement. This means the equipment is delivered and bills will be raised to the Statistics Office so appropriate paymen’s can be made.
