2 dead in Pogera

A number of killings occurred yesterday at the Pogera Mine site in the Enga Province.

Police say an underground miner was killed at around 5 am yesterday morning.

In retaliation, relatives of the deceased killed another man within the mine town.

The two killings are linked as retaliation to an earlier death of a female who was killed during the recent National Election.

Enga’s head of Police confirmed the killings adding a taskforce has dispatched as tensions are high at the mine area.

Martin Lakari assured that the killing will not affect the normal operations of the Pogera Mine.
