The official World Food Day celebrations will be held at the Highlands Agricultural College in Mt Hagen on October 16.
The theme for the Day is “Agricultural cooperatives – key to feeding the world”, and celebrations in Mt Hagen and throughout the country will be focused on this theme.
The Food and Agriculture Organization has also declared 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives.
The Department of Agriculture & Livestock and other stakeholders are working together to arrange a wide range of activities to mark the occasion.
